Our favourite activities for Christmas

Santa by Steam

Santa by Steam is a magical train journey through the Cornish countryside complete with a visit from the railway elves and Santa himself. The one-hour rides depart on Saturdays and Sundays from Bodmin General Station leading up to Christmas. To find out more and buy tickets click here. Bodmin General Station is a 25-minute drive from Rock.

The Eden Project Festival of Christmas

From 22 November until 05 January, the Eden Project hosts their Festival of Christmas. Experience the joy of Christmas with a visit to Father Christmas and his elves, a skate on the ice rink, a magical after-dark light show and much more. The Eden project is near St Austell, just a 40-minute drive from Rock. Find out more here.

Wadebridge Christmas Market

Wander around the pretty market town of Wadebridge, then head to the Royal Cornwall Showground for the Cornwall Christmas Market. With late night shopping in the independent boutiques, live music, mulled wine and Santa's grotto, there is plenty to get you in the festive mood. Cornwall Christmas Market runs from 13 - 15 December 2024.

The Lost Gardens of Heligan

The Lost Gardens of Heligan are offering a whole host of festive activities throughout December. With 200 acres of gardens to discover and everything from a Christmas market to an illumination created by a renowned light artist there is lots to see and do. Fowey Christmas Market

Running from 22 to 24 November 2024, the Fowey Christmas Market is a Christmas must. Wander around the harbour taking in the twinkling lights as they reflect off the water. Head to the Christmas marquee and indulge in locally produced food and drink or stock up on gifts from the lovely mix of market stalls.

Wreath making workshop at Knightor Winery

Create your own gorgeous festive wreath to hang on your door. The Duchy of Cornwall Nursery is hosting a wreath making workshop on 29 November at 11am and 7th December at 2pm. Enjoy a hot drink and mince pies before using a lovely range of foliage, berries, ribbons and ornaments to create your own unique Christmas wreath to proudly display. The Duchy of Cornwall Nursery is a 40-minute drive from Rock.
