The South West Coast Path in pictures

We are lucky to enjoy some of the most beautiful stretches of the South West Coast Path on our doorstep. Here are a few of our photo highlights from Port Isaac to Padstow.

The South West Coast Path is included amongst the world’s most awe-inspiring walks in the world by the Lonely Planet in the Great Adventures book. The section that runs along the North Cornwall coastline is beautiful and diverse and spans the sheltered Camel Estuary, sandy beaches, dramatic headlands and picture perfect harbours.

Whether you fancy a short scenic walk with the family or a day’s coastal hike then the South West Coastal Path can offer you the perfect backdrop. The path is easily accessible from our large range of coastal properties. Here you can have you own coastal adventure, take breath-taking holiday photos and create lasting memories with friends and family.

When we aren’t in the office, we like to get out and about on the coast path. We particularly love the 12-mile stretch from Port Isaac to Padstow which includes Port Quin, the iconic promontory The Rumps, Pentire Point, Polzeath and Daymer Bay. You can then relax on the ferry across from Rock to Padstow and reward yourselves with some of Rick Stein’s fish and chips.

Start your walk from the picture perfect fishing village of Port Isaac after exploring the harbour and shops.
Head to the natural harbour of Port Quin, scramble on the rocks at the small but perfectly formed beach.
On your way out of Port Quin you will pass the 19th century folly, Doyden Castle. Watch out for the hundreds of rabbit that live in the cliffs here.
Take in the iconic shape of The Rumps stretching ahead of you with The Mouls island alongside. If you are lucky you might spot seals along here.
Head to Pentire Point which epitomises the rugged North Cornwall coastline. From the other side you can enjoy breath-taking views of Padstow Bay.
You will be greeted by lush green countryside as you head towards New Polzeath. Stop at Baby Bay for a rest on the sheltered golden sands.
Watch the surfers as you make your way across Polzeath Beach. This is a good point to stop for an ice-cream or a spot of lunch.
Discover secluded beaches on the stretch from Polzeath to Daymer Bay including the tranquil Greenaway Beach.
Watch the iconic marram grass blowing in the breeze on the Daymer Bay to Rock stretch.
Take in the beautiful estuary views above the golden sands of Rock Beach.
Head down onto the golden sands of Rock Beach and catch the ferry across the estuary to Padstow.
Sit back and relax with the wind in your hair as you enjoy the views from the ferry.
Take a well-earned break on the harbour at Padstow with the fishing boats bobbing on the water and fish and chips in hand. Mind those seagulls though!
