Penhayle occupies an enviable position just off the road running down to Polzeath Beach. Here, you can relax, just far enough from the hustle and bustle of central Polzeath, but with all the amenities at your fingertips.
Polzeath's shops, cafés and restaurants are within walking distance from Penhayle. The Oyster Catcher is just a stone's throw away, where you can enjoy delicious Sunday roasts or a local tipple or two (with no need for taxis!). Whether you need to pop out to pick up some holiday essentials or fancy a hearty Cornish breakfast, you merely need to head down the hill to the main street. Alternatively, you can head up the hill to Flo's Kitchen, formerly known as Trebetherick Stores, offering a range of delicious local produce, pastries and coffee.
Polzeath Beach offers wonderful surfing opportunities for all abilities. If you would rather be on the water that in it, set sail for the day in nearby Rock with a sailing lesson. Here, you can also catch the ferry across to the pretty harbour town of Padstow, where you can while away a day exploring the harbour and independent shops.
For coastal adventures, enjoy a good stomp along the coastal path and take in some of the most beautiful scenery in the country. In one direction discover hidden coves, beautiful sand dunes and the calm waters of the Camel Estuary towards Rock. Head the other way and take in the rugged coastline that spans Pentire Point, The Rumps and Port Quin.
