Shrimps

50° 35′ 40.700″N -4° 49′ 55.468″W

Perched above the winding streets of Port Isaac, Shrimps is a beautifully refurbished apartment offering charming harbour views. With a sun-trap patio, stylish interiors and the rare bonus of private parking, it's a hidden gem in the village.

Nestled in a coveted clifftop spot above the charming fishing village of Port Isaac, Shrimps enjoys sweeping views over the Atlantic Ocean and unbeatable access to the coast.

With the South West Coast Path quite literally on your doorstep and the harbour just a short stroll away, this is the perfect base for exploring on foot. From Shrimps, simply follow the path down to the harbour, browse the independent shops, and watch the daily rhythm of village life unfold. You’ll likely spot scenes made famous in Doc Martin and Fisherman’s Friends and if you’re lucky, you might even bump into a familiar face.

Just around the headland lies the lesser-known cove of Port Gaverne, a peaceful spot for sea swims, dolphin spotting, or laid-back afternoons on the sand. Adventurers can take to the water with Cornish Rock Tors who offer coasteering, kayaking, paddleboarding and more. And when you’ve worked up an appetite, grab a seat at Pilchards Café and enjoy live music with your sundowner.

Food lovers are spoilt for choice. Two of Nathan Outlaw’s celebrated restaurants are within walking distance - The Fish Kitchen and Restaurant Nathan Outlaw - while the iconic The Golden Lion (featured in Doc Martin and the Fisherman's Friends movie) and the Port Gaverne Hotel and Restaurant offer hearty Cornish fare and a warm welcome. For stocking up on essentials, the village Co-Op is just a few minutes away.

Shrimps is also perfectly placed for day trips across the North Cornish coast. Polzeath’s surf-friendly waves are less than fifteen minutes away and Rock’s sailing hub is a scenic drive along the estuary. From here, hop on the ferry to Padstow for seafood and shopping. Or head north to the legendary Tintagel Castle, steeped in Arthurian myths and dramatic sea views.
