Settled in the quiet idyll of coastal bliss, The Boathouse can be found five minutes outside of central Rock, accessed via a long rustic lane, crossing scenic farmland to the exclusive hamlet of Gentle Jane that sits above the estuary waters.
Based well and truly off the beaten track, The Boathouse is the ideal spot to enjoy a peaceful holiday immersed in the beautiful Cornish countryside. With several acres of wild meadows and a private beach on your doorstep, you may never want to tear yourself away from this truly magical spot.
From The Boathouse, it’s just a short drive along scenic country lanes to Porthilly Cove (where the famous oysters and mussels are farmed), and its secluded beach and picturesque church. Just round the corner from Porthilly Cove is the village of Rock (a five-minute drive from Gentle Jane), loved for its long, golden beach, rolling sand dunes and fantastic shops and restaurants. Get out on the water at the Rock Sailing Club or pop to the St Enodoc Golf Club for a game with far-reaching views of the estuary and Atlantic. You can also walk to Porthilly and Rock beaches in twenty minutes along the shingle beach at low tide (also accessible at high tide but we would recommend wellies to avoid wet feet)!
The house is only a fifteen-minute drive from the beautiful town of Wadebridge, which has a lovely selection of independent shops, cafés and restaurants, all on the banks of the Camel Estuary. Here, you'll find all the conveniences you need, including a supermarket and petrol station.
